(Pictured above) On November 18 in Regina, Sun West School Division Trustees met with the Minister of Education and local Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The meeting took place prior to the Saskatchewan School Boards Association Fall Assembly that was also taking place that day (pictured above, left to right):Darryl Seguin (Director of Education), Kim Gartner (MLA for Kindersley-Biggar),Holly Goddard (Trustee - Subdivision 9), Hon. November Happenings

Sun West Trustees attended the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA) Fall Assembly, November 16-18 in Regina.

Prior to SSBA Fall Assembly events on November 18, Sun West Trustees met with the Minister of Education and three local Members of the Legislative Assembly (see picture above).

The Sun West Board of Education held its regular meeting on November 25. Highlights included:

The Board received information on the Sun West Accessibility Plan, which was posted on the Sun West website on December 1, 2025.  Click here to see the plan.

The Board reviewed and approved the 2024-25 Annual Report. The Report has been forwarded to the Ministry of Education and following their approval, it will be posted on the Sun West website after the January 27 regular Board meeting.

The Board received and accepted the 2024-25 Annual Audited Financial Statements. These will be made available in the 2024-25 Annual Report.

Following the November meeting, Trustee met with the Executive of the Sun West Teachers Association (SWTA).

Three Sun West Teacher Innovation and Support Fund Projects Approved

Students from North West Central School (NWCS) in Plenty, and Rossville School in Coleville, as well as the entire Sun West School Division will benefit from Sun West applications to the Teacher Innovation and Support Fund. NWCS will receive funding for applying drone technology in agriculture, while Rossville will receive funding for an innovative math program. Sun West will also receive funding for a Mobile Learning Unit that will provide land-based resources to all Sun West schools.
