On Friday, March 20, five students gathered in Rosetown for a unique training experience, called Drop the Mic: The Art and Science of Motivational Speaking, which is part of the Sun West Creator Olympics.

Prior to the training, each student prepared a ten-minute motivational speech. In their speeches the students explored how they had overcome challenges or learned lessons in their lives. The students were then provided with feedback and advice on their speeches as well as instruction on how to hone their speaking skills, by professional motivational speaker Chris Gray.

Gray speaks all over Canada and the United States to help young people choose the path of positive influence, turn obstacles into opportunities, the champion’s mentality and similar topics. He is also professional wrestler and helps produce wrestling programming with TNA Wrestling.

The students will use the instruction they received from Gray to further polish their presentations and on Wednesday, May 13, in Rosetown, they will premiere their speeches at Ignite: Storyteller Showcase in Rosetown. This will be a free public event that will start at 7:00 pm.  Further promotion, including the location ofthe event, will be advertised soon.
