From sparks to speed, the students of Rosetown Central High School’s FABrication Club have turned raw metal into roaring horsepower with their latest masterpiece — a custom-built Rat Rod that’s as bold as their ambition!
The project was a huge group effort. The students were assisted by members of the Rosetown Dusty Wheels Car Club who worked with the students on building the Rad Rod. In addition, Regal Motors of Rosetown also supported the students’ efforts to make this amazing project a reality. Starting in October 2023, this talented crew of young fabricators spent months transforming a 1949 Mercury Pickup cab into a street-ready Rat Rod powered by a 2007 Ford Mustang 4.0L V6 engine, boasting 225 hp, a5-speed manual transmission, and a 3:55 limited slip rear axle. With all-wheel disc brakes and a whole lot of attitude, this ride is pure, raw fun to drive—and it’s ready to hit the road!
But this isn’t just a cool car—it’s a community-powered project. With the support of the Kinsmen Club of Rosetown, the Rat Rod is being raffled off to raise funds for tools and equipment in the school’s Metals Shop, helping future students continue to learn, build, and innovate.
