
Sun West welcomes Mitch Wintonyk as the next Vice-Principal of Rosetown Central High School starting in the next school year. Mr. Wintonyk brings more than a decade of teaching excellence, leadership experience, and a strong commitment to student success.
“We are excited to have Mitch join our team of school-based administrators,” stated Darryl Seguin, Sun West Director of Education, “his passion for teaching and his impressive experience in curricular and extracurricular education will be a tremendous asset in his new position,” he added.
Mr. Wintonyk began his career after completing a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina in 2012, specializing in Physical Education and Social Studies. He later strengthened his administrative and leadership expertise by earning a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Saskatchewan in 2021. His academic journey has been marked by numerous scholarships and awards, recognizing both his scholastic achievement and leadership potential.
Since 2013, Mr. Wintonyk has served at Rosetown Central High School, teaching Grades 7–12 Physical Education, Health Education, and Career Guidance while also leading the school’s athletics program. His contributions include developing long-term instructional plans, enhancing the Career Guidance program, chairing the School’s Athletic Wall of Fame, and serving as Acting Administrator over the past five years. His coaching achievements are extensive, highlighted by multiple provincial medals in football and team championships in track and field.
Mr. Wintonyk’s leadership extends beyond the school. He serves as President of West Central Athletics, where he has previously held roles as Vice President and Secretary Treasurer. His professional development includes extensive coaching certifications, leadership training, and participation in provincial athletics and administrative organizations.
Deeply involved in the community, Mr. Wintonyk has contributed as a volunteer coach, hockey official coordinator, and executive member for local sports associations. His strengths in communication, organization, relationship-building, and student-centred instruction position him as a highly effective educational leader.
