Grade 8 Kyle Composite School student Ellise Dyrland enjoyed a very successful run in this year’s Heritage Fair competitions.
For her school’s Heritage Fair, Ellise created an amazing display and presentation about “Your Community Builder Co-Op.” She finished second at her school’s Heritage Fair, which made her eligible to compete in the Regional Heritage Fair at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw. There she finished sixth and that earned her a place to compete at the Provincial Heritage Fair at Government House in Regina.
Ellise indicated that her favourite part of all the Heritage Fairs she was the sharing her knowledge and connecting with people – almost all of whom seemed to have some connections with Co-ops! She even had the opportunity to meet and present to Her Honour, Lt. Governor Bernadette McIntyre.
At the Provincial Heritage Fair, Ellise finished second overall and received the Heritage Saskatchewan Award as well as a bursary. She received her award from Lt. Governor McIntyre.
Ellise commented that the “Heritage fair was an awesome experience, and I’m really glad I was able to attend.” She added: I learned a lot and this is something that I am very grateful to have experienced.”
Congratulations Ellise! Great work!
