Kindersley Composite School (KCS) has been awarded a Ministry of Education Teacher Innovation and Support Fund Grant for the 2025–2026 schoolyear, recognizing educator Adina Coles’ visionary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) project. The initiative aims to establish a dedicated STEAM Room at KCS, enhancing science education and expanding access to hands-on learning for students across the Kindersley area.

The project, supported by a $38,000 grant, will benefit over1,000 students directly, with the potential to reach up to 6,000 students across the Sun West School Division. It includes the development of STEAM kits, mentorship programs, career exploration opportunities, and field trips to urban centers like Saskatoon and Calgary. The initiative also emphasizes equity in education, aiming to bridge the gap between rural and urban access to STEAM resources.

Principal Heidi Marchant praised the project, stating:
"Adina Coles has proven to be a lifelong learner in the area of STEAM. We were excited to see Adina submit a proposal for the Teacher Innovation and Support Fund, and even more excited to see that this deserving project was approved! We look forward to our students getting more hands-on experiences in the area of STEAM, expand their knowledge of STEAM-related career opportunities, as well as the opportunities that will be opened up for growing STEAM in students in our feeder schools here in Kindersley. Adina is passionate about science, and I look forward to seeing how these added resources will support her!"

The STEAM Room will serve as a hub for innovation, mentorship, and collaboration, offering students and teachers alike the tools and inspiration to explore future-focused careers and technologies.
