Kari Alford Selected as Next Principal of Outlook HighSchool

Kari Alford, who is currently the Dean of Campus Life at the Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute (LCBI) in Outlook, will become the new Principal for Outlook High School (OHS) starting in the 2025-26 school year.

“With a distinguished career in education and leadership, ”stated Sun West Director of Education Vicki Moore, “Kari brings a wealth of experience and a visionary approach to her new role.”

Ms. Alford holds a Bachelor of Education with a focus on Elementary and Special Education from the University of Alberta. She has also pursued graduate-level courses in Educational Therapy through MidAmerican Nazarene College in Kansas.

Ms. Alford has been at LCBI since 2019. While serving as Dean of Campus Life, she also teaches Art, Music, Home Economics, and Christian Ethics at the school. Other focuses of her current position include parent engagement and physical and mental wellbeing.

Before her tenure at LCBI, Ms. Alford was the Executive Director of Kinasao Lutheran Bible Camp in Christopher Lake from 2007-2019 and was Director of Outreach and Youth Ministry for Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Outlook from 2002-2007. She was also an instructor with Prairie West Regional College in Outlook between 2000 and 2007, where she taught the courses for Educational Assistant certification. From 2000-2001 she was a Director and Teacher at Lil’ Sprouts Playschool in Outlook.

Ms. Alford has also completed and been certified in several professional development courses including in the areas of communications, project planning, strategic leadership, and organizational principles.

The wide diversity of Ms. Alford’s education and experience will be a great asset to OHS.

“I am looking forward to joining the OHS staff,” stated Ms. Alford. “I am excited for this new assignment as Principal. Having lived in Outlook for many years I understand the importance and influence the schools have in our community and the community has on our schools.  I appreciate the opportunity to serve both our community and Outlook High School in this new position in the coming year,” concluded Ms. Alford.
