Tanisha Gunnlaugson’s Grade 2 class at Westberry Elementary School in Kindersley recently completed an exciting Métis Dot Art project. The Sun West Indigenous Consultant Brie Phillips visited the classroom and taught the students how to the techniques of Métis Dot Art. The students used this knowledge to create a bison art project puzzle. Each student was given a piece of a puzzle that together would make a bison. The students then decorated their puzzle pieces with Métis Dot Art and when everyone had completed their work, they constructed the puzzle and displayed it on a large bulletin board near their classroom.
Great job Westberry students!
