Congratulations to the Kenaston-Loreburn Senior Boys Volleyball Team that had an incredibly successful season! This was a brand-new team! This was the first time in 14 years that Kenaston had a team, and it was Loreburn’s first team in 11 years!  At the beginning of the year, they set their goal to make it to Provincials. And they did just that!

In the first week of November, the team played exhibition games against Dinsmore to prepare for Conferences. Unfortunately, one of their players, sustained an ankle injury that kept him out of the Conference playoffs in Maymont. The team still played outstanding games in Maymont, finishing second, a result that earned them a spot at Regionals in Glaslyn. There, they battled fiercely and clinched a Provincial berth by placing third overall.

Provincials in Rouleau marked the first-ever Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SHSAA) Provincial appearance for the entire team and it was a truly unforgettable experience! Everyone was off the injury list by then, giving the team its largest roster yet with 10 players. Rouleau and Avonlea were fantastic hosts, and the Kenaston-Loreburn Sr Boys fought hard, finishing in the top eight in the province for 1A boys. The pride could not be greater.

Coaches Schilling, Moir, and Menzies had an incredible experience with this group and are beyond proud of their achievement. Special thanks go to the players who will graduate this year for an amazing season, with best wishes for their future in sports. The team is already looking forward to next season!
