Trustees Meet with Shadow Minister of Education

As part of their regular meeting of February 24, Trustees met with Matt Love, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Saskatoon-Eastview and shadow Minister of Education for the Opposition New Democratic Party. The Meeting gave the Trustees the opportunity to familiarize MLA Love with the challenges of delivering education in rural areas as well as some Sun West success stories. New Vision, Vision and Values Adopted

At its regular February 24 meeting, and as part of developing its next long-term strategic plan, Trustees adopted a new mission statement, vision statement, and core values for Sun West School Division. Earlier in year, Sun West staff, students, parents and community members were asked to complete an online survey about the statements and values. Over 500 people participated in the survey with 93% responding positively to the new statements and values, which are:

Core Values

Accountability, collaboration, courage, creativity, curiosity, empathy, integrity, leadership, respect, and responsibility.

February 2026 Happenings and Trustees are part of your community

At its regular meeting on February 28, Trustees reported on their recent involvement in a number of school activities including Lindsay Shaw (above) who was a judge for the Davidson School Heritage Fair. At the meeting the Trustees also received an extensive report on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Sun West schools, an update on Budget preparations, and discussed the upcoming Canadian School Boards Association Gathering.
