Take a Trip into Leadership

It is time to get excited!

Sun West Student Leaders are organizing the annual Sun West Student Leadership Conference on Friday, April 19. The theme is "Take a Trip Into Leadership," and will encourage students to think globally and understand that we are all citizens of the world!

We have the perfect keynote speaker to fit with our theme! Ashlyn George is a Saskatchewanian who has visited every continent on earth and who has so many amazing stories about her experiences as an travel writer and social media empress! Ashlyn George is an extreme adventure traveller who has flown military fighter jets and driven a team of Alaskan Huskies. She's passionate about sharing what exploring the world can offer if you're willing to put yourself out there. Having spent the past 6 years on the road travelling through more than 50 countries, she shares her enthusiasm and curiosity for the world with others through stunning photographs, insightful tips and advice. Ashlyn encourages people to step outside their comfort zone and do what they think they can't.

Read about Ashlyn here and watch the videos below.

Returning to this year's conference is the incredible Corrie J who is bringing his "Big Screen Big Fun" excitement to help close the conference. He was tons of fun at last year's conference and this year it will be even better!

One of the awesome ideas that Student Leaders have brought with them from this year's Canadian Student Leadership Conference in St. John, New Brunswick, that is also keeping with the "Take a Trip Into Leadership" theme, are Cultural Moments. Throughout the conference, students and others will share elements of their cultures such as songs, dancing and attire with conference delegates.

Other highlights will include Spirit Group Activities, Student Leadership Experiences and a big secret presentation from the Sun West Youth Consultation Team! Check out the full agenda below:

There is also a thrilling surprise scheduled for the Conference courtesy of the Youth Consultation Team, another part of the Sun West Student Leadership Group. They are keeping what will be unveiled a closely guarded secret but they did provide these videos as hints.
