Director of Education - Randy Emmerson

Randy Emmerson is a long-time and respected member of the educational community in Saskatchewan.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Educational Studies from Flinders University of South Australia.

Randy started his teaching career teaching Social Studies and English Language Arts in Unity before returning to his home town of Prince Albert, where he taught for the majority of his career. He has been very active in community projects in Prince Albert, coaching basketball, volleyball, football, soccer and the Special Olympics.

From 2004 to 2013, Randy was the Principal of the Prince Albert Collegiate Institute and then starting in 2014, served as a Superintendent of the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division. As Superintendent, his duties included curriculum, assessment, educational technology, staff development, athletics and libraries as well as supervisory responsibility for ten schools, which provided him with a strong background in all aspects of school division management, in particular in distance learning and personalized learning.

In 2020, the Sun West School Division Board of Education selected Randy as the Sun West Director of Education and he started in that position on August 1, 2020.

Randy has been married to his wife Angie for 31 years. They have three beautiful daughters.

Darren Gasper



Darren Gasper holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Communications and Technology. He started his career in Grande Prairie, Alberta where he taught Mechanics, Electronics and Welding for four years. From there he went to Kenaston School where he taught Physical Education and Practical and Applied Arts. He became principal of Kenaston School in 2007 and then a Superintendent for the Sun West School Division. Mr. Gasper played an instrumental in the development of the Sun West Distance Learning Centre, which provides online courses that are delivered across Sun West and the rest of Saskatchewan.

Superintendent of Operations:
Shari Martin



Shari Martin holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. Prior to becoming a Superintendent, Shari held positions as a classroom teacher, teacher librarian, resource-based learning/curriculum consultant and principal of a Kindergarten-Grade 6 and a Kindergarten-Grade 12 school. Shari has presented at a number of conferences and has served on several provincial advisory committees including chairing and organizing the 2014 League of Educational Administrators, Directors and Superintendents (LEADS) Summer Short Course. She served as LEADS representative on the Congress on Rural Education Planning Committee from 2012 to 2014 and on the LEADS Professional Development Committee from 2014 to 2017. Ms. Martin is currently the LEADS executive member for Zone 6 and LEADS representative on the following committees: Ministry of Education Social Sciences Advisory Committee, LEADS Resolution Committee, and University of Regina Joint Field Experience.

Vicki Moore



Vicki Moore holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to becoming a Superintendent with Sun West, Ms. Moore was classroom teacher at North West Central School and Rosetown Central High School, the Vice-Principal at Harris-Tessier Central School and Biggar Central School 2000 as well as Principal of Elrose Composite School.

Kelli Boklaschuk



Kelli Boklaschuk holds a Bachelor of French Education from the University of Regina, a Masters of Educational Communication and Technology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Graduate Diploma of Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary. Prior to coming to work for Sun West, Ms. Boklaschuk worked for the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division for 15 years and the Brandon School Division for four years.Among the areas where she worked included: French immersion, educational technology, online learning, learning resources, communications, First Nations and M├ętis education and personalized learning. Ms Boklaschuk came to Sun West as Personalized electronically Blended Learning Supervisor and became a Sun West Superintendent in 2019.
