Writing Goal:

Beginning in 2017, teachers will use the  provincial writing continuum and provincial rubrics to assess student writing.   Writing material and resources which support “at grade level” writing will be used to support this goal.

Math Goal:

By June 2019, 80% of our students will demonstrate growth or maintain a level within the adequate or above range using the Sun West rubric in a school wide literacy goal for Mathematics with a focus on numeracy.

Character Goal:

By June 2018, our students will:

WAS students will continue to work on self-regulating as it is a necessary component of academic success and an important life skill.  Building character is also a goal for all WAS students. Students will be exposed to a variety of cultures and celebrate their uniqueness to provide a greater appreciation for others and their differences in order to help prevent bullying; and be able to clearly differentiate between bullying and other inappropriate behaviours.  WAS students will also demonstrate valuable character traits daily and celebrate character traits during school assemblies.
