The Sun West School Division Student Leadership Program is excited to present the 13th annual Sun West Student Leadership Conference on April 23, 2021, for the first time in a virtual format.
The conference runs from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm on Friday, April 23. The conference is open to all Sun West students in grades seven through twelve. Information on registration has been provided to all Student Leadership Advisors in Sun West schools.
All activities and speakers tie into this year's conference theme of What's behind the mask, which focuses on strategies to support positive mental health and wellness. Presenters will be sharing messages about overcoming challenges in support of health/wellness from their perspectives.
Please note: Students and parents should be aware that this year’s theme addresses important and sensitive topics. Life is Worth Living speakers will share their personal story and suggestions for how to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. Team Sun West is the dynamic force that planned every aspect of the Student Leadership Conference, from registration to opening ceremonies and developing the theme. Composed of young people from different grades and schools from across the Division, Team Sun West provides an example of how amazing leadership results from collaboration and team work! Team Sun West will be a part of everything at the conference and whether they are introducing speakers or working behind the scenes, you can be sure that Team Sun West will make it their personal business that you have an awesome time at the conference!
Jeff is a soul-stirring, thought-provoking, highly requested transformational speaker, who has inspired people from around the world. Jeff has years of involvement as a community advocate, a mentor and 15+ years of experience in law enforcement. Jeff has worked as a police officer and in various investigative roles. He is a youth communication specialist, with over 1000 forensic interviews with children. Jeff is also an author of two critically acclaimed books, Brothers from the 6/ Sisters from the 6: Role Models in my Community, and KNew Me: 10 Men, 10 Stories of Perseverance.

Life is Worth Living is a non-profit project created by three sisters from the Kindersley area. They are dedicated to spreading awareness and decreasing the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide. Their goal is to prevent other families from having to go through what they went through when they lost their sister Brianne.
Andrew has adapted his highly entertaining comedy and magic show to the virtual world! With volunteers from the audience he creates very high energy and engaging performance! His stage show showcases many different types of entertainment all rolled into one single presentation with a large focus on good, clean comedy, which will be sure to get everyone laughing.
