Roads to Success Career Fair, May 5th, 2016 Information:

WHEN:
Thursday, May 5th, 2016, Rosetown, SK - Rosetown Central High School and Rosetown Arena (SaskCan Centre)

AGENDA

INFORMATION:

Over 600 Grade 10 and 11 Sun West School Division students will inundate Rosetown Central High School and the Rosetown Arena for the "Roads to Success"  Career Fair on Thursday, May 5th, 2016.

Students will arrive at Rosetown Central High School for opening ceremonies and a keynote presentation by ROAD TO EMPLOYMENT.  Following the keynote address, students will split into three large groups and disperse to various presentations and hands-on demonstrations to be held within the high school and arena.

At the school, there will be trade booths with representatives from various organizations providing information and answering student questions.  There will also be presentations that students will choose to attend on career-related topics including tips from past grads, post-secondary options, ag-related opportunities, trade-focused discussions, etc.

The arena will host a number of interactive displays with representation from colleges, trades, and industries in order for students to get a hands-on feel for what various occupations may involve.  There will be interactive displays from construction, to welding, to agriculture, to emergency medical services, to name a few.

The ROADS TO SUCCESS Career Fair is endorsed by the Sun West School Division Board of Education and is held every two years in Sun West so students have the opportunity to investigate and "try out" several career options before deciding what they may like to do upon graduation.

A number of students from Sun West School Division's Student Leadership Program are involved in planning and leading this event for their peers.  These young leaders in conjunction with a team of Sun West personnel are coordinating the day for students.  Thank you, in advance, to all participants and sponsors for supporting the life/career investigation process of our Sun West students.
