How to get involved?

  1. Members of SCCs are individuals who possess a strong understanding of their community and care deeply for the education and welfare of young people.

  2. The SCC is designed to bring unique perspectives into one council.  These various perspectives from staff, students, parents and even community members who do not have children are beneficial to the success of the school.

  3. Attendance at an annual general meeting is a great opportunity for parents and community members to learn more about SCCs and get involved.  These meetings are held in the spring each year and are advertised in numerous ways to encourage everyone to attend.  All meetings, including general monthly meetings are open to the public.

  4. Parents and Community Members at Large are elected to a 2 year term.  All newly-elected members’ terms are staggered terms to assure continuity from year to year.  If you are interested in running for a position on the SCC or if you have any questions, please contact the principal.  Information on the SCC’s constitution and election procedures can be made available.
