September News

We will be having an Open House on Wednesday, Sept 14. 6 30 – 8 30

This will be comprised of two opportunities.

1. A chance to see a dynamic presenter, Allan Kehler!

He will speak about stress management, living fully and dealing with anxiety. We have high numbers of students who self- identified on our “Our School Survey” as having anxiety and having troubles coping with stress. We felt this would be a good way to begin the year, by creating a common ground and understanding in a supportive environment.

2. A chance to visit with our dynamic teachers and visit your child’s classrooms.

There will be a package of information available for families at this time.

We are embarking on a PeBL Math Journey this year at Elizabeth Middle School and will share with you how this will look in your child’s classroom at this time.

Picture Day

September 22nd and 23rd. The classroom schedule for each day will be confirmed later.

Extra-Curricular Options

Will be shared with students in their classrooms and a communication will go out in the REMIND with dates and times for practices (and will also be in the Handbook).

We are a Nut Aware School

We ask that you don’t send items with nuts of any kind. We have students and staff with life threatening allergies. This policy and safety procedures around that will be discussed in each classroom on the first day of school. More information will go out in early September.

Energy Drinks

Students will not be allowed to consume energy drinks at school due to the high caffeine content. We appreciate your support with this at home as we feel that this is an unhealthy choice for our students.
