“Weather”
or Not To Go Out
I do not remember the
last time that we have had such unpredictable weather, especially in the month
of January. We have seen days so cold
that even the school buses do not run, while at the same time, we have encountered
January rain showers. Some parents often
ask about the school’s policy on when the stays inside verses when they go
outside for recesses and noon hour. When
the weather dips down to -30 (which includes the wind chill temperature) the
students are kept in. Anything warmer,
then the students go outside. Often is the case that the mornings are cold
enough at this time of year to keep them inside but it often warms up in the
afternoon to temperatures which then sends them out to play. Please make sure your son/daughter has enough
winter clothing to accommodate changes in the daily weather. It is always possible to peel off items for
warmer weather but when students come without jackets, for example, and it gets
colder, there is little that can be done.
Stay warm and have a great relaxing February break
