Eaton School Students Take Part in Character Day

Eaton Spartans joined students in schools throughout Sun West, as well as over 15,000 groups across 109 countries to recognize the importance of developing and improving character (qualities like empathy, curiosity, grit, humility, bravery, social responsibility, and many more).

At Eaton, we had a student led assembly where the kids introduced the science of Character video. Eaton School students, Danielle and Amber, led the Spartans in a clap for Character game!

Each staff member then worked on a section of the Character Periodic Table and led an activity that embodied those characteristics.

Wisdom- a science experiment to test these qualities

Courage- a maker space marble activity

Humanity- a kindness project (passing on the message)

Justice- a phys.ed activity based on collaboration

Temperance- an elementary activity based on self regulation.

Transcendence - an art activity

To wrap up our Character Day activities, students enjoyed a collaborative dance presentation about how you can affect others from a few student leaders.

Pictures from the day have been placed on our life size periodic table of "Spartan Strength of Character" outside of the school office. Pictures will be added every time the staff see an element of that character trait occurring. All character/ mentorship programs will continue to occur throughout the year.
