Congratulations to the Eaton Class of 2017!

The celebration began at the Community Hall with a delicious meal prepared by the Community Catering Group. Warm memories and good laughs were shared by the graduates, their parents, the staff, and the Gr 11 class.

The gym was packed with more family and community gathing to celebrate this milestone for these 7 young people. Greetings and sage advice were brought to the graduates on behalf of the Town of Eatonia, the RM of Chesterfield, the School Community Council, and Sun West School Division.

The guest speaker, Mitch Larock, a former Spartan graduate, shared his own memories of school and then passed on a powerful message. He likened life to a deck of cards and the four suits representing different apsects of life - diamonds are friends, clubs are community, hearts are family and spades are the challenges life deals you. He imparted wisdom about choosing your cards, knowing when to draw, and not folding. He ended by singing "We're Here For A Good Time". Well done, Mitch!

Valedictorian Kelsey Guidinger thanked parents, Eaton staff, and the community for their roles in the lives of the graduates. She cleverly tied in aspects if their education or the grads themselves with Canada's 150 birthday and major events or important people throughout its history.

Finally, Principal Craig Vanthuyne spoke about choices and decisions the graduates would potentially be making in the next stage of their lives before presenting each graduate with their diplomas.

Best wishes to Eaton's Graduates: Ashley, Chelsea, Kelsey, Tessa, Josh, Nikki, Quinton! Wishing them grit, determination, and success wherever their paths may take them!
