DINSMORE COMPOSITE SCHOOL  - HISTORY

Dinsmore joined the Eston-Elrose School Division in 1954. Construction of the current school was completed in 1961.  We were amalgamated into the Sun West School Division in January of 2006. In the fall of 2008 we were happy to enroll seventeen students from the Milden Central School when their school closed.  Our school continues to operate as a Kindergarten to Gr. 12 institution, serving students from the Dinsmore , Milden and Wiseton area.  We offer a full range of academic subjects as well as practical and applied arts, and computer instruction. Picture Tel provides the opportunity to link with schools across the Division and offers instruction for subjects with limited enrolments. High School students compete in division wide sports such as golf, volleyball, basketball, curling, and track & field. Elementary students enjoy Christmas concerts , public speaking and track & field competition.

The "Hi-Flyer" school-community newspaper which was started in the 1950's by Principal - Mr. Fowlie, is still published by the students and staff advisors, with a subscriber list of approximately 200 - 250 people.

The "Telstar" yearbook is published by the students and staff advisor and provides a record of memories through the school years.

The school remains a vital and active part of the Dinsmore, Milden and Wiseton communities, and through successful community and parental co-operation, continues to provide children with high quality education in an active and fun learning environment.
