DHS Eco-Activities (formerly the Eco-Club)
Over the years, DHS has hosted a variety
of speakers and workshops relating to sustainability and the
environment. Interested students have helped this happen,
by attending leadership workshops and conferences, by volunteering
to help with workshop and programs, by suggesting interesting
presenters, and by just being open minded and attentive. We
have had worm composting in the past, but most years we are
limited to paper recycling and beverage container recycling.
Last year, the Grade 7 class organized a clothing drive followed
by a fashion show and donation of clothing to those in need,
a project which resulted in a student being chosen to represent
the group's efforts at an event in Vancouver this past fall.
